Creighton JoanCREIGHTON, Leila 'Joan' (nee Shaw) - (June 30, 1927December 31, 2020)

Leila Joan Creighton (nee Shaw) passed away peacefully in her sleep in the care of the wonderful staff of Collingwood Nursing Home.

Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband Denis, and was mother to Alison (Ralph) and Lindsey (Jeff) and Aimee to Daena, Holly, Sydney, and Ethan.

Joan was a graduate of the University of Toronto. Through university she travelled extensively and worked in Northern Ontario at a variety of resorts. She met Denis when she began her career as an Occupational Therapist.

Sadly, she was robbed of her eyesight, so she focused her attention on her family and her love of flower arranging. She developed many friendships through the Milne House Garden Club and competed internationally with the help of several close friends. Her artistic skills have continued with her family.

Joan’s passion in life was a little place called Pine Island on Kahshe Lake. Despite her limitations she negotiated the pathways to and from the lake with skill and determination. We hope she is again available to join Denis on those late evening boat cruises.

Our family wishes to express our deep and profound thanks to the staff at Collingwood Nursing Home, in particular Jackie, Dan and Janice who demonstrated true love and understanding.

Arrangements entrusted with Kane-Jerrett funeral home, Thornhill.
