RICHARDS, June (nee EDMONSON)   -  June was born in Cabbagetown, Toronto, on June 3, 1939.

It is with deep sadness we inform you that June passed away unexpectedly, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on October 13, 2023.

She was predeceased by her parents, Nellie and Jack Edmonson; her brothers and sisters, Jack, Lionel, Barry, Mitchell, Maisie and Carol; as well as her grandson, Matthew. June is survived by her partner of 41 years, Carol Oxley.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted sons, Wayne and his wife, Monica and Larry and his wife, Jackie.

June was a fun and amazing grandmother to her grandchildren, Kaitlin, Megan, Christian and Luke, who will miss her dearly. She will be forever missed by her sisters, Eleanor, Beverly, and Patricia; and this generation's matriarch, Dawna. June is also survived by many nieces and nephews. June was everybody's favourite.

She was the favourite of her nine siblings. She was a favourite, fun loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews.

She and our father, together, against all the odds, through hard work, founded our family business which is now the oldest waste disposal company in the entire GTA.

Our family would like to thank him for his loving support, along with Dr. Yanofski.

Her generosity was angelic. She was the purest definition of a strong daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was fearlessly protective of those she loved. She never had a problem standing up for the truth.

She came by these traits honestly from her mother, for whom she is with now.

She had a love/hate relationship as a Leafs fan. As well, she had the largest hockey card collection. She knew the game and was the first one to throw a Leaf coach under the bus. Her memory of the Leafs in the six team league was captivating to witness.

She and Carol spent many years of happiness at their cottage on Rice Lake.

Off the dock, many experienced their best days of fishing. There will be Visitation on Saturday, October 21st, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rosar Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto. Following the Visitation a Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 520 Sherbourne Street, Toronto.

Upon completion of the Mass the family will greet friends and partake in light refreshments at 323 Richmond Street East, Toronto, Entry Buzzer Code 6023, Penthouse Floor, Multi-Purpose Room (southeast corner of Richmond and Sherbourne), Toronto. Green "P" Parking is available at this location.
