Timothy Leroy Kennedy
October 28, 1949 - October 8, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy Leroy Kennedy, who left us on October 8, 2024, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his wife of 49 years and his three children.
Born in Welland, Ontario, on October 28, 1949, Tim was the cherished son of Merle and James Kennedy and a beloved brother to Joy Kennedy, Margaret Opatovsky (Albert ✝️), Deborah Clark (Greg), and Lorraine Mooney (Bill). He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Bruce Kennedy.
A devoted educator for over three decades, Tim inspired countless students and left a lasting impact in his community. His faith was central to his life, and he served as a lifelong member of St. James and St. Brendan’s Anglican Church, where he dedicated his time to serving and maintaining the church he held dear.
Tim’s passions included hockey and golf, and he especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play hockey. As a proud member of the Port Colborne Country Club, Tim cherished his mornings on the golf course, delighting friends with his “Timisms” and dedication to the game. Known for his generosity and helping hand, he was always quick to lend his pickup truck or fix anything for friends and neighbors.
Tim is survived by his loving wife Leslie (Kargatis) Kennedy, and his children Dana Rasch (Chris), Patrick Kennedy (Anne Thomas), and Ashley Kennedy (Francesco Gallé). He was a proud “Papa” to Ethan and Turner Rasch, Josephine and June Kennedy, Matteo Thomas, and Ofélia Gallé. Tim will be deeply missed, and his warmth, kindness, and love of life will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Cremation has taken place.
