Elaine MacDonald passed away peacefully at her home on December 13th, 2024. Born on July 10th, 1935, Elaine was known for her warmth, generosity, and the loving spirit that she shared with all who knew her.

Originally from Rollo Bay, PEI, Elaine and her husband Somerled later moved to Montreal, where she taught school and raised their three children. After retiring, they moved to Brockville, ON, where they enjoyed many wonderful years. Elaine was active in the Newcomers Club, Stitch and Chat, and her church. In her later years, she moved to Kanata to be closer to her family, where she made even more wonderful friends and cherished memories.

Elaine will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her beloved children Derrill (Terri) and Pamela (Bill), her grandchildren Mark MacDonald (Vanessa), Meaghan, and Joshua Clark, her sisters Eleanor, Isabel, and Catherine, and her brother Jim. She has been reunited with her loving husband Somerled, her son Alan, grandson Adam, and many other loved ones from throughout her life.

Elaine’s door was always open to anyone looking to share good humor, her famous homemade biscuits, preserves, cookies, and a splash of wine. She was not only the best mom and grandma a child could have, but also a best friend. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished the time spent together, celebrating every occasion with love and joy. Cheers to you, Mom, until we meet again.

Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 21st, 2024, at 1 p.m. at St. John Bosco Parish (175 Windsor Drive, Brockville). A reception will follow in the St. John Bosco Parish Reception Center. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
