IRWIN, Mavis Catherine (née Heels) - (Resident of Empress Gardens Retirement Home, in Peterborough, Ontario)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mavis at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the great age of 94 years.
She passed away very peacefully, with her family at her side.
She leaves behind her four children, John (Jeanne), Chris (Kan), Cathy (Max), and Bob (Kate), and nine grandchildren – Ken, Jodi, Chad (Sue), Kyl (Andrélise), Dane (Mel), Jacqui, Tim (Terra), Dan (Emily), and Ben, and twelve great-grandchildren – Jacob, Tyler, Travis, Julia, North, Nash, Tessy, Hayden, Aurora, Annie, Molly and Jackson.
She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Roy Irwin in 2001.
Her greatest joy in life was spending summers with her family on Baptiste Lake, near Bancroft.
In her earlier years, she was an avid curler and also played golf.
Hobbies included gardening, rug hooking, and she also dabbled in a little painting and drawing.
Her creative nature made Christmas and Easter holidays very special.
She will be sadly missed and will stay in our hearts forever!
In keeping with Mom’s wishes a Private Family Service will take place.
If desired donations to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, would be appreciated by the family.
