McVETY, Murray McVety   - passed away suddenly on July 27, 2024, just one day before his 79th birthday.

Born on July 28, 1945,

to James and Evelyn McVety, Murray lived a life marked by his unwavering dedication, warmth, and generosity.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret Anne McVety (née Simpson) for 63 years, and a cherished brother to David - predeceased (Linda), Elizabeth (David - predeceased), Robert – predeceased (Patricia), Carol (Allan), and Brenda (Jim).

He was also a dear brother-in-law to Harold (Nad), and the late Frances (Terry). Murray was a proud father to Craig (Liz) and Kevin (Melba) McVety, and a devoted grandfather to Karen (Brandon), Matthew, and Meagan. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews that he cherished greatly. His legacy is further carried on by his two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Owen, who brought him immense joy.

Murray's life was a testament to his hard work. He owned a successful business for over 50 years and devoted many years to farming, a vocation he approached with passion and diligence. Murray was a family man with a heart of gold. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the impact he made on those around him will be remembered with great fondness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Port Perry Hospital or Oak Ridges Hospice of Port Perry in Murray's memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
