ELBORN, Anna-Louise Elborn
April 11, 2026
With deep love and profound sadness, our family announces the passing of Anna-Louise Elborn on April 11, 2026. Her life was marked by creativity, service, music, and unwavering faith. Born Kathleen Donna Tucker on May 10, 1943, she spent her earliest months in the care of Children’s Aid before being adopted by Bernard and Helen Pickering, who renamed her Anna-Louise and nurtured her artistic and musical gifts. From sketching with her father—who painted alongside members of the Group of Seven—to earning her Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) in piano, the arts were woven through her entire life. Professionally, Anna-Louise worked for several Toronto and Whitby law firms, becoming a Law Clerk and Notary Public, and later served with the Ontario Ministry of Revenue/Finance until her retirement. She also volunteered with the Durham Regional Police Auxiliary Unit for 26 years, rising to Auxiliary Inspector, serving on the Honour Guard, and being named Auxiliary Officer of the Year. Music was her lifelong passion. She sang with the Bill White Singers, County Town Singers, The Notables, Harmony Road Baptist Church Choir, and the DRPS Choir—often as a soprano soloist. Her voice was a gift she shared generously. Since 1992, she served faithfully at Harmony Road Baptist Church, where she was baptized in 1993. Over the years she served as Church Clerk, Deaconess, worship leader, committee member, event organizer, and a tireless helper behind the scenes for countless ministries. Her faith shaped everything she did. Anna-Louise was elegant, witty, organized, and endlessly generous. She loved her family fiercely and was proud of each one of them.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: David Moore (Kelly), Brian Moore and Paula Moore. She was a cherished grandmother to: Justin Moore (Hope) and Colin Moore (Carter Feltham).
She was a beloved great-grandmother to: Rachael Spearman and Lynken Moore.
She was also a loving sister to: Carl Pickering, and aunt to Shannon Pickering and Talisman
Pickering. Her legacy is one of service, music, faith, and love. We rejoice that she is now in the presence of her Lord, and we hold onto the hope of seeing her again.
