Hollohan GertrudeHOLLOHAN, Gertrude (nee CARROLL)   -  October 21, 1929 - January 20, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gertrude Hollohan, Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Queensway Hospital in Ottawa at the age of 92.

Gertrude was the longest-surviving sibling of 8.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Edmund, her son James and her grandson Byron.

Survived by her children Linda Walsh, husband Robert and Anthony (Tony) Hollohan, wife Linda.

Cherished Nan to Holly MacInnis (Byron) and Lisa Murray (Patrick) and much loved Gran Nan to Callum and Brayden MacInnis.

Gertrude worked several jobs while raising her children.

In the early 60s she was a hostess at the CNE, in the late 60s she worked at Sprague Electric.

In the 70s she worked at Willowridge child care centre in Etobicoke.

She moved from Mississauga to Ottawa 13 years ago.

In 2019 she moved into The Westwood on Carling Ave. in Ottawa.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ralph Hollands for his strong support and always being a phone call away. Also a special thank you to the staff at the Westwood, tower 2 and the PSWs and CBIs on the fifth floor for the compassion, caring and nursing she received while in their care. Thank you to the ER Nurses and Doctors at the Queensway Hospital. A Graveside Service in Mississauga will be held in May or June.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
