SMITH, Stanley - On August 1, 2022, in his 97th year, at North York, Ontario.
Survived by his beloved wife, Marjory, he will be missed by family and friends in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.
The most polite, gentle, and unassuming of men, he had a mischievous sense of humour.
Having joined The Royal Navy at a very young age, he served as a signalman on a landing craft at the Normandy Landings.
He helped land Canadians on Juno Beach, and it may have been the comradery with Canadian Soldiers which precipitated his immigration to Canada soon after the war.
In Toronto, Stanley had a long career with Sescolite Lighting.
At his request, there will be no service.
Special thanks to Matt Ross and Alberto Macaraeg, and all the staff at Delmanor Northtown for their exceptional care and support.
