Dorothy Eleanor Money Priddle

June 27, 1926 - February 23, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Eleanor (Money) Priddle announces her peaceful passing after a long and well-lived life, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, Simcoe, in her 99th year.

Born in North Walsingham Township, Dorothy was the daughter of James and Ida May (Roloson) Money. In 1945, she married the love of her life, C. Blake Priddle (late 1993). She worked as a secretary for Blake’s business, seasonally in tobacco, and volunteered at the Port Rowan Thrift Shoppe for 22 years. Dorothy was also a dispatcher for the Langton Fire Department and a dedicated auxiliary volunteer.

A devoted member of Langton Baptist Church, Dorothy was active with the youth group and mission band. She also attended and volunteered at Golden Links at Brethren and Christ Church, Frogmore. She was a dedicated member of the Langton Women’s Institute for over 70 years.

Dorothy and Blake raised four caring children: Sheldon (Judy) Priddle of Tillsonburg, Judy (Gary Elliott) of Simcoe, Susan (Claude Belanger) of Delhi, and David (Tracy) Priddle of Parry Sound. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Michael (Sarah), Jason, Amanda (Robert), Stacey (Tim), Christopher, Steven (Kathy), Scott (Nicole), Sky (Eric), Chance (Joanna), Seaaira (Ryan), and ten special great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother Donald Money (2016) and sister-in-law Margaret (Peggy Grant) Money (2009).

Dorothy enjoyed traveling to Florida, weekend camping, boating, fishing, hosting family gatherings, playing cards with friends, bingo, watching game shows, and enjoying tea with loved ones.

Friends, neighbors, and relatives are invited to attend a public visitation on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 40 Queen Street, Langton. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jonathan Silverthorn. Interment will take place at Langton Baptist Church Cemetery.

Following the interment, all attendees are invited to a reception in the Langton Baptist Church basement hall.

In memory of Dorothy, donations to Langton Baptist Church would be appreciated.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared online at Verhoeve Funeral Homes.
