Loretta May Simon Roy

May 18, 1949 - January 4, 2025

In Loving Memory of Loretta May Roy, of Sheshegwaning First Nation, who passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 75.

Loved by her children Cheri Roy and Dean Roy, as well as special nephews Clifford Simon and Marvin Simon (predeceased). Cherished by her grandchildren Zoe Corbiere (Shawn Panamick), Dean Debassige (Jillian Cain), Kingsley Roy, Mitchell Roy, Vesta Roy, Lexa-Marie Roy, and Scarlette Meawasige-Shawana, and her great-grandchildren Gavin Corbiere, Vernon Roy, and Conor Corbiere.

Predeceased by her parents Theodore Simon and Pearl Simon (nee Toboyant), and her siblings Mitchell Simon, Marjorie (predeceased Dan) Corbiere, Godfrey Simon, Thomas Simon, Clarence Simon, Leonard Simon, and Walter Simon.

Loretta was a beacon of love and strength in her community, serving on the Sheshegwaning Band Council and many Indigenous Boards of Directors. She found joy in organizing Sheshegwaning Pow Wows and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather at the Sheshegwaning Community Complex. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
