RUSSELL, Jane "Lily" Elizbeth (nee McNABNEY)   -  Passed peaceably with her family by her side on Monday, June 24, 2024, a few months short of her 99th birthday.

She was the daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that anyone would cherish.

Love to Lily meant more than words - it meant dedication, living by example and sacrifice when love is not convenient. She was lovingly present for all of us, her husband, Bob, daughter, Colleen, son, Rob, daughter-in-law, Wendy (that so clearly she loved as a beloved daughter) and to her immediate family that she held so tight, George her son-in-law, her grandchildren, Lily, Rob (Bobby), Daniel, Michael, Jackie and Russell, her great-grandchildren, Ben, Aria, Ward, Erica and Emelia.

Lily looked forward to the arrival of Hanna Elizabeth, her granddaughter due in a few short weeks, who she will now embrace from above in the company of our Lord. She also found immense happiness and love for her large Irish family and her many friends who were a constant part of her life. Lily loved people and always found joy in their company and conversation.

Lily immigrated to Canada from Northern Ireland in 1952.

Lily found immense joy in dancing, stemming from her youthful days as an Irish dancer, most recently taking to the floor with her great-grandchildren, at the age of 97, on New Year's Eve 2023.

Although her last year was an increasing struggle, she was blessed with wonderful health throughout her life and enjoyed her retirement years fully in the embrace of her family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 165 Russell St. E., Thornbury, ON, on Saturday, July 13th, at 11:00 a.m.
