Catherine McLean Vallely
January 9, 1945 – October 9, 2024

It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Catherine (Cathy) Vallely (née McLean), a beloved mother, wife, nana, sister, aunt, and friend, on October 9, 2024, at the age of 79. Cathy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 9, 1945, in Glasgow, Scotland, Cathy was the daughter of Hugh and Mary Ann McLean (née Mcdonald Sherrit). She grew up in Glasgow and moved to Canada in 1967, where she built a life full of love, dedication, and generosity. Cathy will be remembered for her kindness, joyful spirit, bond with her many dogs, and impeccable fashion sense!

She was a devoted wife to her late husband Peter (her "Petey Pie") and a dedicated mother to Isobel (Jay), Angela (Bobby), Brad (Carrie), and John (Jen). Cathy was also a loving nana to Gabriel, Zachary, Jacob, Sofia, and Nyah. Her family fondly remembers her cooking, baking, and the time spent on Sunday hikes, holidays, and birthday celebrations. She is also survived by her siblings Isobel Toshner and John McLean (Scotland), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Cathy’s legacy of love, warmth, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Pioneer Manor Care Team for their exceptional care.

A service to honor Cathy McLean-Vallely will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Le Rendez-Vous De Vallee Est in Hanmer at 11:00 a.m., followed by an afternoon tea.
