It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Henry West.
He passed suddenly on February 27th, 2025, at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto,
surrounded by his loving family.

John was a beloved husband to Kathy West (née Nairn) for 44 years.
A cherished father to Jordan (Sarah), Matt (Brooke), and Adam (Marco),
he was also a proud grandfather to Anjolina, Cash, Lachlan, Camden, Lennon, and Londyn.
John was a kind and patient man whose grace and humour extended to everyone around him.
His greatest joys were watching his children and grandchildren grow up
and being there every step of the way to offer his wise advice.

John is survived by his siblings Gary (Julie-Ann), Judi (Dave), Jim (Jamie),
Ray (Kelley), Rob (Joanne), and David (Angelica). He was predeceased by his parents,
Lloyd and Dorothy West, and was a son-in-law to James and Jean (née Ingram) Nairn.
He was loved by his in-laws Janice Smith, Jim (Darlene) Nairn, Julie (Jim) Darling,
and Peter (Kristina) Nairn, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

John was a proud member of his community, where he lived and worked all his life
as a partner of West Brothers Painting and Decorating,
which he helped establish with his brothers. He was a lifelong member of
the Cobourg Alliance Church, an avid hockey enthusiast,
a lover of Tim Hortons coffee, and a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

John’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at
St. Michael’s Hospital for their compassionate care, ensuring
John received the dignity and grace he deserved in his final moments.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025,
at Cobourg Alliance Church in Cobourg at 1:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th, 2025,
at MacCoubrey Funeral Home,
30 King Street East, Cobourg, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation or
Cobourg Alliance Church.
