HERBERT, Merie Herbert

A resident of Chatham, Merie Herbert  passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on May 13, 2026 at the age of 69.  Born in Brampton, ON,  Merie was the daughter of late Audrey Hunter. Loving mother of Andrya (Shawn) Eagen and Alan Herbert. Proud Memaw of Zachary Eagen and her faithful companion Bella.  She will be sadly missed by her sisters  Dian (Gary) Bowers and Donna (Ed) Atkins and spouse John Herbert.

Merie was the proud owner of Merie’s Cake N Stuff for 35 years.  She poured her creativity and care into decorating birthday and wedding cakes for members of the community. She found genuine joy in her work, especially in seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they celebrated life’s special moments with her creations.

Cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment at a later date.
