Diane Arney (née Doyon)
February 2, 1941 – November 17, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Arney (née Doyon) on November 17, 2024, in Cochrane, Alberta, at the age of 83. Diane, a proud Kirkland Laker at heart, was born to Paul and Jeanne Doyon (née Latandresse) on February 2, 1941, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. She was preceded in death by her sister Pauline and her brother Johnny Doyon (Julia).
Diane is lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Wayne; her son Paul (Kathy); and her cherished grandchildren, Kristin Arney (Chris) and David Arney (Lauren). She is also survived by her sister, Cecile Hockley (Bill), along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who deeply mourn her loss.
Known for her warmth, wit, and quiet resilience, Diane approached life with grace and strength, even while facing a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She found joy in simple pleasures like cooking, skiing, fishing, knitting, and sharing walks with loved ones. Her generosity and tenacity left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
A private family service will be held in Canmore, Alberta, with interment in Kirkland Lake at a later date. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Extendicare in Kirkland Lake, Origins in Canmore, and Bethany Cochrane for their compassion during Diane’s final years.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army in Diane’s memory are greatly appreciated. Her love, humor, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Funeral Home Not Listed.
