Smiling elderly man.Samuel Glen Bridgen
1954 - 2024

It is with sad and broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Samuel Glen Bridgen in 2024, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sam, known for his positive spirit, was the best friend and soul mate to Ruth (née Armbrust), his wife of 46 wonderful years. He was the cherished and devoted father of Jodi (Chris), Lorene (Brian), and Kevin (Melissa). Proud Grandpa to Taylor, Gabby, and soon-to-arrive Baby Lennie, Sam was especially adored by his great-great-niece Gracie Rose.

Sam will be missed by his lifelong best friend, Gordon Mundy, whom he had known for over 70 years. He was the beloved son of Glen (2010) and Janet Bridgen (2023), and son-in-law to George (2008) and Marjorie (2018) Armbrust. Dear brother to Elsie, Kaye (Jim), Beverly, Maxwell (Ron), Nancy, and Brad (late Omar 2019). He was a special brother-in-law to Helen Geddes, Marlene Crepp, and Donald Armbrust. Sam's nieces, nephews, and many others will remember him for his generosity and skill as “Mr. Fix-It.” His passion for fixing motors and helping others was well-known in the community, and his garage was often the go-to place for any repair needs.

A valued and dedicated employee at Moncur Electric/Morrish Electro Mechanical for over 35 years, Sam’s work and his willingness to assist others made him a pillar of his community. His family is deeply grateful to Dr. Jeff Price, Dr. Woldie, Dr. Jarrar, and the Windsor Cancer Centre staff, as well as the Emergency Department and the 7th-floor team at Metropolitan Hospital. Special thanks to the Hospice of Windsor for their compassionate care during Sam's final days.

Visitation will be held at Families First East Windsor (1065 Lauzon Road) on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Cremation will follow, and a private memorial service and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the All Saints’ Anglican Church Memorial Fund or The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
