Robert Everett Harness
December 8, 1952 - March 7, 2025
With love and gratitude, we remember Robert (Bob) Everett Harness, who peacefully passed away with his children by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, March 7, 2025, in his 73rd year.
Bob was a devoted father to Robert (Kathy) and Cori-Ann (Jason), and a loving Grand Dad to Jackson and Lily Harness. He is survived by his mother, Jean Harness (née Ritchie), and his siblings, Phillip (late Jane), Diana, and John (late Marlene). He will also be fondly remembered by his aunts Jean McLean (née Harness) and June, uncles Sandy and Fraser Ritchie, and his nieces and nephews Jennifer, Robert (Randi), Kayla (Josh), and Kara (Eric), as well as his many cousins and friends.
Bob was predeceased by his father, Everett Harness, as well as his aunts Audrey and Ruth Ritchie, and uncles Thomas, Alfred, and Mervyn Harness.
Born at Bowmanville Hospital, Bob was a lifelong resident of Bowmanville. As a child, he spent many days at the family farm in Orono and continued working on the farm with his father for many years. He dedicated 35 years of service to General Motors.
Bob was a kind-hearted man who appreciated life’s simple pleasures—tradition, history, and nostalgia. He was a proud member of the Bowmanville Legion and Liberty Church, and he was a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and a day-one supporter of the Toronto Blue Jays. Bob found joy in gardening, The Beatles, and heartfelt movies. He also had a special tradition of baking birthday cakes for his mother, children, and grandchildren.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and kindness. His family and friends will forever cherish his memory and hold him in their hearts.
