DICKSON, Joan Aleta (nee CRUICKSHANK) - Passed away peacefully, at Greenview Lodge, on June 4, 2022, one month short of her 90th Birthday.
Predeceased by her husband John William (2013) and her parents James Walker Cruickshank (1986) and Aleta Cruickshank (nee Johnson, 1987).
Joan was the matriarch of the Dickson Family and will be sorely missed by her son Peter, daughter Laurie Wanamaker (Jeffrey), son Richard and daughter Leslie.
Joan was blessed with seven grandchildren: Sarah, Drew, Ben, Johnny, Mary, Lauren and Summer, who will miss their Grammie dearly.
Joan was a homemaker kept busy with the activities of four children. She found time to be active playing sports or cards.
She was a ruthless bridge player, top notch badminton player, shuffle board player and lawn bowler and exceptional coach.
The pandemic took away her joy of playing cards with her gang at the Thornhill Seniors Centre.

here will be a Celebration of Life for our mother Joan, at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, Thornhill, ON, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 2-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toronto Humane Society in Joan's name. Her love for all animals was heartfelt and genuine.
