WICKS, Mary Jane -
January 13, 1937 - November 11, 2023
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family at Amica Seniors Residence, at the age of 86, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's as well as other health issues.
Mary was the beloved wife of Bob for 66 years before his passing in 2021.
Mary will be greatly missed by her children, Heather, Teresa Young (Stefan Young) and Alan (Denise Ridley); loving grandmother of Christopher Wright (Marissa Genge), Catherine Wright, Matthew Wicks and Nathan Wicks; and great-grandmother to Grayson Wright, Lincoln Wright and Lucia Wright.
Raised in Aylmer, Ontario, Mary married the love of her life, Bob, in 1954, and soon after started a family. Bob's job at the Bank of Montreal started taking the family all over the country. Mary was a loving mom and did a great job bringing up the children with a warm and caring heart.
As the children got older, Mary took on part-time jobs at K-Mart and Woolco, which she enjoyed immensely and met many new friends.
Mary, already a breast cancer survivor, developed Alzheimer's later in life, and was eventually wheelchair bound due to broken hips.
She will forever be remembered and sadly missed by all. The funeral service will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer, on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
