Passed Away: November 21, 2024
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, André Napoleon Neveu peacefully passed away at the age of 73. André was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, remembered for his kind heart and artistic spirit.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Mary Ann, his daughter Tania, and stepsons Paul and Robert, along with his cherished grandchildren Danny, Hamed, Jasmine, and Leila. André is also survived by his siblings Roland (Monique), Emile (Ann), Claude, Nicole (Bill), Robert, and Jean (Jacques). He will be sorely missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, and best friends Earl (Lise) and Phil (Louise).
Predeceased by his parents, Laurent Neveu and Rolande Jodoin, his sister Diane Dicenso, and his sister-in-law Nathalie Gauthier-Neveu, André’s life was one of dedication, artistry, and generosity.
André was a long-serving employee of the Ottawa Carleton District School Board for 35 years, working as a painter and later as a carpenter. He was passionate about restoring old treasures to their original beauty and often volunteered his time to help neighbors and friends without being asked.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Tubman’s Funeral Home Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Ottawa. A memorial service will follow in the chapel from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with a reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Private burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery on Montreal Road, Ottawa.
The family extends their gratitude to Dr. Spacek, Dr. Goindi, and the caring staff at Ruddy Shenkman Hospice in Kanata, whose support made André’s final days peaceful. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
