LOVATT, John Doran "Jack"   -  May 16, 1928 - October 28, 2022

Died peacefully, in Orillia, in his 95th year.

Jack was the beloved husband of the late Valerie Anne (Ponton).

He was the much loved father of Ian and his wife, Tracie, David and his wife, Melanie, Mary McAllister, and Nancy and her husband, David.

He was the proud grandfather of Trisha, Adam (and his wife, Marlee, and their daughter, Genevieve), Matthew, Kallan (and her partner, Jared), and Fraser (and his partner, Emily). Jack was predeceased by his parents, George and Lily Lovatt; and his brother, Garry.

Over his career, Jack played an integral role in the development of two Canadian engineering icons: the AVRO ARROW and the CANDU Nuclear Reactor.

In his community, he was a founding and active member of Bloordale United Church for over 60 years, and a leader with Scouts Canada for almost 40 years.

Jack's family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Mike Odlozinski for his skilled and compassionate care over the past two years.

We are also grateful to the staff of C5 at Orillia's Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Mariposa House Hospice, and the Birchmere Retirement Residence.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Mariposa House Hospice or The Toronto Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated.

A private Service of Interment will be held in Toronto.
