SELLARS, D. Wayne Dudley Sellars - Born June 1, 1953, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed on July 23rd, in Toronto, Ontario.
Wayne spent his childhood living in Halifax and when he graduated from his Bachelor of Education at Dalhousie University, he decided to pursue his teaching career in Toronto.
During his 35 years of teaching, he discovered a passion for teaching newcomers to Canada.
Wayne was very connected to his faith and was a devoted member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church for many years. Fiercely private, with a stubborn streak, he nonetheless spread kindness and laughter within his family and community.
Wayne Dudley Sellars' name will live forever, engraved on the bell on the upper deck of Canada's mighty and famous HMCS Haida.
Beloved son of Myrtle (nee Bouchard) and Norman Sellars; and brother to Gary Sellars, all who preceded Wayne in passing. Uncle to Jessica Scallen (nee Sellars); and Craig and Noah Scallen; Lucas Sellars; Isaac and Anthony Sellars; Duncan Sellars; Kelly and Abigail Sellars.
Wayne had many close cousins who he was close to, both in Toronto and in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, who were important to him.
A Mass and small reception will be held in Toronto soon. The family plans on interment in Halifax, with his mother and brother, at a time to be determined. There will be a small reception for family and friends on the east coast at that time.
