Rosemary Elizabeth MacArthur (née Wilson)
2024
Peacefully at the Ravines Residence in Ottawa, Rosemary Elizabeth MacArthur (née Wilson) passed away surrounded by the thoughts and prayers of her family and friends. Her sons Rob and Angus were by her side at the end. Rosemary was predeceased by her husband of more than 60 years, Peter Howard Douglas MacArthur.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons Hugh (Eleni), James, Robert, and Angus (predeceased by daughter-in-law Kerry) (Amita). Proud grandmother to Duncan, Emily, Jack, Riya, Amy Vasagam (Denver), and Ryan Withyman (Ana). Cherished great-grandmother to Teegan, Kaydence, Calliope, Imre, Liam, and Chelsea.
A graduate of Queen’s University in Kingston, Rosemary dedicated her life to her family and her community. She was a proud mother and grandmother and a fierce advocate for all children. She taught piano to many children in Richmond over the years and was a dedicated member of the Richmond Village Association in her later life. Rosemary was also an accomplished watercolour painter who delighted her grandchildren with illustrated children’s stories.
Visitation will be held at Tubman’s Funeral Home (Westboro Chapel) on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be planned for 2025.
In memory of Rosemary, donations to Christie Lake Kids, supporting underprivileged children, would be greatly appreciated. Donations will help provide children with the opportunity to experience the joys of camp life.
