VINETTE, Rose Helen Vinette

Passed away peacefully in her 88th year on June 20th, 2026, Predeceased by the love of her life, Rheal, to whom she was married for 69 years. Beloved mother of Rick (Julie), Linda and Denise (Pat), loving grandmother of Jeffery, Danielle (Darren), Jason (Cassandra), Jessica (Chris), Tom (Renee), James (Kim) and Michael (Lesley) and dear great grandmother of 20. Rose was predeceased by her mother Ledeanne, her father Almos and eight of her siblings (Mike, Jean, Paul, Peter, Rejeanne, Rejean, Carmen, Marcel), her mother-in-law Aline and her father-in-law Rene. Rose will be fondly remembered by Joe Ruszer, Cheryl Ruszer, Florence Lebreche and her dear nieces Connie, Tammy, Sandra & Michele as well as other nieces & nephews.

Rose Helen Vinette work at an early age in a fancy women’s clothing store. This is where she developed her love for fashion and she was always impeccably dressed. She later worked in retail & bookkeeping and she & Ray subsequently purchased two businesses which they successfully ran together. As a result they were able to retire quite young. They were then able to continue to fulfill their passion for travel. Together they travelled extensively throughout Canada & the United States settling for several winters in Tucson. They also enjoyed the Bahamas, Mexico & Jamaica. Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother who was loving, friendly, smart and compassionate.

She got great joy donating to charities, especially Operation Smile, the Leprosy Foundation and the Catholic Church to name a few. Rose was an amazing seamstress, enjoyed making ceramics, knitting blankets, sweaters, Barbie clothes and making her own bears. She loved dolls & stuffed animals (which she did not have as a child), Christmas, family & baking. We will miss her presence in our lives every day.

Many thanks to doctors & nurses & support staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa (Emergency & Supportive Care) for their compassionate & professional care.

As per Rose’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service and an inurnment will take place at the Bowmanville Cemetery
