MELOCHE, Anna Marie Meloche

Anna Marie Meloche (née Getty), born on July 14, 1929, in Windsor, Ontario, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community. Anna was the eldest child of Clifford and Mabel Getty and a cherished sister to Ken, Eileen, Patricia, and Kathy (1998). On July 28, 1949, she married the love of her life, Richard (“Dick”) Meloche (2004), beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and commitment.

She was a devoted and loving mother to Deborah, Richard, Michael, and Denise. Anna was also a proud “Grammie” to ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Born just before the Great Depression, Anna developed remarkable resilience, wisdom, and a sharp wit that remained with her throughout her life. During and following the Second World War, she left school at the age of fifteen to help support her grandparents, parents, and younger siblings-a reflection of the selflessness and determination that would define her character. As she raised her family, Anna became the heart and guiding force of her home. She provided tremendous love, care, wisdom, and encouragement, creating a household filled with warmth, security, and lasting life lessons.

Her culinary talents were exceptional, and she delighted family and friends with memorable home-cooked meals and extraordinary desserts that became cherished traditions. Anna possessed a remarkable creative spirit and a lifelong passion for arts and crafts. She was highly skilled in porcelain doll making, quilting, paper tole, ceramics, knitting, and many other crafts. She was also an avid reader, completing more than 300 novels throughout her lifetime, always seeking to learn something new from every book she read. A spirited and competitive card player, Anna treasured the countless hours spent around the table laughing and making memories with family and friends. She was a dedicated member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Parish, where she faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister for more than ten years, living out her faith through service and compassion.

Anna will be remembered for her kindness, strength, resilience, wit, creativity, and unwavering love. Her generosity of spirit, quiet strength, and enduring devotion to those she loved have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue to live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all whose lives she touched.

Visitation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave, Windsor on Wednesday July 8, 2026 from 10am until time of funeral services in the chapel at 11am.
