TOLLER, Margot Mcdonald (nee WINTERS)  -B.A. McGill University – Macdonald College

Passed away peacefully, on February 7, 2024 in the presence of her family at Sunrise Senior Living in Mississauga, in her 94th year.

Predeceased by her husband and best friend (married 55 years), Eric (deceased 2007); her sister, Joan Simpson (Hall); brother-in-law, George Toller (Ruth); sister-in law, Joan Mavor (Charlie).

Survived by daughter, Jane Toller; son, Peter Toller (Loretta); Tutu to 6 grandchildren: Elizabeth Pitfield, Stephanie Coe (Paul), Harty Pitfield (Dee), Alison Osborne (Willie), Nelson Toller and Jack Toller; and to 4 great-grandchildren: James, Colt, Jake and Phoebe.

Margot was born in Ottawa, daughter of Wilfrid and Jessie Winters. She attended Ottawa Model School, Aylmer High School, Lisgar Collegiate Institute (Head Girl 1948), Graduate of Macdonald College in Home Economics; teaching at the Secondary School level.

Margot was a dedicated member of St. Andrew’s Memorial Presbyterian Church in Port Credit, teaching Sunday School, helping at VBS, working on the Advisory Committee and spent much time beautifying the outdoor gardens.

The grandchildren learned to swim and ski with Tutu’s teaching.

Family time was important and each year they would host a large Christmas Eve family dinner.

Margot was always smiling and never complained. Her family thanks Sunrise Senior Living for the excellent care.

The family will receive friends and family at St. Andrew’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, 24 Stavebank Rd., Port Credit, on Thursday, February 29th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

A memorial service celebrating Margot’s life will be held on Friday, March 1st, at St. Andrew’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, 24 Stavebank Rd., Port Credit, at 11:00 a.m. Reception in the church auditorium following the service.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held later.

The family would appreciate donations to the St. Andrew’s Memorial Trust Fund.
