NEARY, Lawrence Joseph Neary

Peacefully passed away on July 29th, 2026 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by love, music and happy memories.

Lawrence Joseph Neary was born on August 23rd, 1955 in Peterborough, to Alma Marie Neary and Lionel Clarence Neary. He was a loving brother to Rita Marie (Peter) McQuade and Michael John (Mike) Neary.

For 28 wonderful years, Larry was the beloved spouse and best friend of Margaret O’Keefe (Peggy) Neary. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and shared adventures.

His professional life brought him to Toronto, where he excelled at sales and sales management. He retired from Ganz in 2018 as VP Sales after over 28 years with the company and was known by his colleagues for his integrity and work ethic.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends are invited to join the funeral mass at the Cathedral of St Peter-in-Chains, 411 Reid Street, Peterborough, on Wednesday, August 5th at 10:00 am. This mass will immediately be followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery for family only. However, a reception at Bishop Doyle Knights of Columbus Hall across the street will follow the mass for all who wish to attend.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
