SNOW, John Alexander - Peacefully, on December 18, 2022, two days after his 84th birthday, John reached the end of his longest portage.
He will be remembered by his family, Trudy Snow (née St. Pierre); daughters, Stephanie (Nicholas) and Jacqueline; and his many grandchildren.
John was known to some in his professional role as a Trader on the floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange, and to many others through his passionate role as a Jack-of-all-trades contractor.
Mostly, he was a keen outdoorsman, happiest in his canoe in the middle of some remote Ontario lake.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia, for 59 wonderful years.

LOWNDES, Jennifer McVittie - June 4, 1957 to December 17, 2022
Loving mother to Andrew (A.J.) Shieck; mother-in-law to Ariel Taylor; and companion to Micheal Fearon. Predeceased by her father, John Montgomery Lowndes (2017); mother, Marilyn Elizabeth McVittie Lowndes (2022); sister, Susan Lowndes Harrison (2022); and brother-in-law, Michael Jenner Jean-Marie (2019).
Mom will be deeply missed by sister Parry Lowndes, brother-in-law Alan Harrison, sister Margo Lowndes Jean-Marie, brother Jock Lowndes and sister-in-law Anne Howard Lowndes.
She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Jenn was a vibrant, fun, deeply compassionate and caring person.

CASTLEDINE, Donna Marie - Sadly and unexpectedly, Donna Castledine (nee Rosati), passed at age 71, December 17, 2022.
Beloved daughter of the late Elio (Al) Rosati, and the late Gioconda (Jackie) Rosati (Ginestre).
Donna will be greatly missed by her many cousins, family and friends.
Donna carried on the work of her father who was a founding member of the Maple Leaf Rally Club in 1968.

OHMAN, Inga - On Friday, December 16, 2022, Inga Ohman, beloved wife of seventy years to husband, Bert, passed away at the age of 91.
Gracious loving mother to Jeff and Keith, grandmother to Lily and Quinn. Born 1931 in Stockholm, Sweden.
Moved to Toronto in 1952 and started working as a bank teller.
Then changed careers to life insurance, where she excelled until the 1990s.
Inga was an avid fan of the arts, with a love for opera and ballet. She and her husband shared many years of memories traveling the world together.

MILISIEWICZ, Janina Lucja (nee FILCEK) - May 4, 1922 – December 16, 2022
Passed away peacefully, in her home as she desired, with Krys and Katrina at her side.
Janina was predeceased by her husband, Jerzy (1978); and also by her son, Jerzy (1990).
She is survived by her daughter, Krystyna Angel; granddaughter, Katrina Angel (Kevin Bell); step-great-grandchildren, Tristen and Keira; and grandniece, Anne Sophie Cox (UK).
Born in the UK to Polish parents, Janina immigrated to Toronto, Canada, in 1950 with Jerzy and their two toddlers, making their home in North York.

MORRISON, Walentyna "Viola" (nee KOT) - September 23, 1933 - December 16, 2022
Our mom, Walentyna "Viola," was born in a part of Poland which is now Belarus.
In 1937, she immigrated to Canada, travelling by train and ship with her mother, Barbara Kot (nee Zieleniak), and her siblings, Mary and Nick, to join her father, John Kot, who had purchased a century-old farm on the hardscrabble rock of the Canadian Shield in Nobel, Ontario.

GRANT, George Edward - May 3, 1936 - November 15, 2022
Son of Sandy MacLean Grant and Violet Isabella Morrison (both deceased).
After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in Library Science, George worked briefly in Toronto before accepting a Library job in England.
Returning after three years, he "fell into his dream job" at the Central Reference Library in Toronto, in the Fine Arts Department from 1965-2001.
His passions were the ballet, the opera, theatre, books, and cats; Fluffy, Peter, Perry, Lady Jane, Victoria, Alberta, Gucci and Angel have been his loved companions.

DRUCE, Kenneth - Born in St. Helier, Jersey, September 25, 1934, died peacefully on December 15, 2022.
Predeceased by his beloved partner and soulmate, Victor Netto.
The only son of the late Doreen and James Druce, he will be mourned by his friends.
Ken was a highly regarded and admired costume designer for CBC Television, whose talent was sought after by production staff and performers alike, for nearly 40 years.

JORDAN, Patsy Merle - July 28, 1936 - December 15, 2022
The Lord has called her home.
Having gracefully outlived all expectations with dementia and cancer, Patsy Jordan, beloved mother to Lois Jordan, Leslie Jordan (Niall), Marcia Stephens (Jason) and Ekem Dick (Danya), quietly said goodbye on the evening of December 15, 2022.
She spent her final days at home, in the constant company, love and care of family and friends.
She is further survived by her sisters, Lystra, Lorna, Daphne and Carolyn, and now reunited with her parents, Hilary and Elaine; and her brothers, Horace (Sonny), Randolph, Clinton, Steve and Trevor.

KING, Nina Lorraine (nee OHSIS) - November 18, 1943 - December 15, 2022
We are sad to announce the passing of Nina King. She passed away peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital, on December 15, 2022, after a brief illness with complications.
Born in Sarnia, Ontario, on November 18, 1943, she never forgot her French Canadian and working class roots, even as she formed easy and close friendships with people from all walks of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Juliette Ohsis; her brother, Roger Ohsis; brother-in-law, Donald "Buddy" Boone; and sister-in-law, Laura "Lala" Hanson King.

Our darling Momsie passed away peacefully, on December 14th, at the age of 87.
Marion was surrounded by her loving family.
Marion is survived by her sister, Marilyn; her children, Susan (Scott), Wendy, Sheila and Catherine; her much-adored grandchildren, Harrison, Spencer, Alison, Lauren, Caitlyn and Taylor; and her many neices and nephews.

Mom passed peacefully, in her 92nd year.
Beloved wife of the late Zeno Fernandes.
Loving mother of Avé (Randy), Denise (Rick) and Simone (Chris).
Adored nana of David (Renée), Alicia, Erin (Anthony), Drew (Angela), Ariana and Alessia; proud great-nana of Michael and Daniel.
Born in British Guiana, Norma came to Toronto in 1951, with infant daughter, Avé, to join Zeno and to start their life in Canada.
Mom was ahead of her time, strong-minded, fiercely independent, a working mother and a woman of faith.

ATHERLEY, Kenneth Lorne - July 7, 1932 - December 13, 2022
Ken had many years of love and laughter with his late wife, Frances Louise (nee McGuire), who died in 1989.
He later met Sylvia Louise Knox on a double date and spent the rest of his life married to another wonderful woman. It truly was a wonderful life.
Ken was an icon in the steel industry before retiring to Wasaga Beach, where he and Sylvia ran an antique store. Ultimately, they moved to Picton, Ontario to be closer to family.
Through the years, he played league baseball and hockey (at the Gardens, no less), and owned two Standardbred racehorses.

David was born in the Stirling Royal Infirmary, Scotland, on January 18, 1956.
When he was a toddler, his family immigrated to Sault Ste. Marie, where he grew up.
David's many friends will miss his wit and ready laugh.
He was a special blend of sweet and sarcastic, and thrived on pointing out the ironies of life in a world that he found increasingly hostile to any sane person; but he did so with a charm and warmth that endeared him to a wide circle of friends, colleagues, and neighbours.

BAKER, Anita (nee DeCARLI) - June 19, 1937 - December 12, 2022
Our beloved mother and loving wife passed away peacefully, at the age of 85, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
Predeceased by her parents, Remo and Julia DeCarli, she leaves behind her loving husband and soul mate of 62 years, Edward (Eddie).
She will be greatly missed by her four sons, Ted (Joanne), Mark (Sandra), Peter (Kim) and Stephen (Leslie).
Loving grandmother to Benjamin, Zachary, Matthew, Sean, Jacqueline, Madeline, Ryan and Abby, and sister to Arnold DeCarli (Patti).
She will be greatly missed by her many close friends and extended DeCarli/Baker families. Anita's care and compassion for those in need was truly inspiring.
