LAMPING, Patrick Lesley - (May 3, 1944 – August 17, 2022) - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Patrick Lesley Lamping, aged 78.

Left to mourn are his beloved wife, Netta (Chinn) Lamping; his children, Tracey Lamping (Leigh Youd) and Jeff Lamping; his grandchildren, Charlotte Youd and Alexander Lamping; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a large group of loving friends.

Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ida (Moynihan) Lamping; his brother, Terry Lamping; and his sister, Sandra (Lamping) Miles.

WOLFE, Helen Wolfe   -  Smashed stereotypes as an educator, writer, and world traveller in her wheelchair, died at home on August 17th, secure in the love of her sister Margie, family and dear friends.

Daughter of Holocaust survivors Josef and Toby Wolfe, Helen was born on July 16, 1953 with spina bifida.

JARVIS, Harvey Wayne   -  Accountant  1944 - 2022

Passed away after a brief illness.

Born and educated in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Crowe GerardCROWE, GERARD M.   -  October 16, 1934 - August 17, 2022

Gerry died in hospital after a short illness.

Late of Homewood Avenue, Toronto, London, Ontario and Limerick, Ireland.

Survived by his brother, Sean (Eileen); sister, Mary; and many nephews and nieces.

Predeceased by his parents, Bridget and John; and by his brothers, Tom, Jimmie and Billy; and by his sisters, Bridget and Anne.

Gerry was easy to spot at any gathering with his wide smile and hearty laugh.

His fur coat and shillelagh helped also.

Rajasingam AriamalarRAJASINGAM, Ariamalar  -  Family of Mrs. Ariamalar Rajasingam sadly announce her passing away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Ariamalar Rajasingam (nee Durayappah) age 92, entered eternal glory peacefully, surrounded by family in her home in Toronto, Canada, on August 17, 2022.

Ariamalar was born on September 9, 1929 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka to loving parents.

She grew up in Jaffna, studying at Vembadi Girls High School and became a Certified English teacher from 1949 to 1983, teaching in Jaffna (Hartley College and Central College), Ratnapura, Batticaloa, Trincomalee & Colombo.

She was an inspiring and dedicated teacher to all who met her which continued until the end. Wife of late Rajasingam (Attorney-at-Law); mother to late Manoranjan, Rajie, Sudha, Yogi and Priya.

KING, Diana Catherine  -  Diana left on her final journey on August 17, 2022, after a lifetime of journeys.

She was born in Nottingham, England to Anne and Carl King.

She leaves her sister, Jane; loving cousins; and friend, Carol.

HILL, Doreen Emily (nee GLANCY)    -  March 27, 1921 - August 17, 2022

Peacefully at Riverview Manor on August 17, 2022 at the age of 101.

Loving wife of the late Fred Hill and the late John Glancy.

Beloved mother of Lawrence "Larry" (Sandra) Glancy and Wayne (Helen) Glancy. She was the cherished grandmother of Derek (Megan), Stephanie, Kaitlyn, Travis, Mary Janet, Tamara; and great-grandmother of Hannah.

Predeceased by her parents, George and Alice Gardiner.

McAVOY, Beverly May (nee RHODES) McAvoy   -  April 11, 1930 - August 17, 2022

The family of Beverly Mae McAvoy are mourning her sudden death on August 17, 2022.

Beverly is predeceased by parents, Sydney and Marguerite; and her brother, Stanley; and her husband, Patrick.

Galt PhyllisGALT, Phyllis Jean Galt   -  Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the same Toronto hospital where she was born 94 years ago.

She will be greatly missed by her nephew, David, her niece, Sheila (Anders), and her great-nephews, Peter and Daniel Norberg.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, Ian and Mabel, as well as her brother, John (Rena). 

SISCO, Troy Howard   -  August 21, 1968  - July 16, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Troy Howard Sisco.

Troy was the son of the late Joyce Sisco and Vernon Downey.

Colbert NancyCOLBERT, Nancy Samuels  - 1931 - 2022  Born in New York City, the only child of two fashion executives, Nancy's early life was glamorous and social: Park Avenue, boarding schools, and horses.

In 1952, she met Stanley Colbert, a brash literary agent whose childhood was the opposite of hers: cold-water flats in Queens and a large, close family.

They were married soon after, and had three children, Jan, Melanie, and David.

Their marriage, which would last until Stanley's death 57 years later, was happy, passionate, bookish, and loud.

Nancy moved to Canada in 1977 and was delighted to become a Canadian.

She lived in Toronto for most of the rest of her life. She founded one of the first literary agencies in Canada, then was the founding publisher of HarperCollins Canada.

HANNA, Carol   -  January 5, 1928 – August 16, 2022

Carolyn Elizabeth Hanna, was born on January 5, 1928, to Gertrude May (Browning) and Francis Bailey King, in London, Ontario.

She lived near Brantford before the family moved to Dundas in 1942, where she met Robert Hanna.

They married in 1950 and lived in the towns of Dixie, Cooksville and Mississauga, where daughters, Martha and Sarah, were born.

QUINTON, Ralph Mac Donald "Don"    -  We are saddened by the passing of Ralph MacDonald "Don" Quinton, on Monday, August 15, 2022, at home, surrounded by family.

Don was predeceased by his wife, Camelia "Gussie", in May 2022.

Canning BarryCANNING, J. Barry   -  It is with great sadness that the family of Barry Canning announces his peaceful passing at home on August 15, 2022 at the age of 92, with his wife Lydia by his side.

He encouraged and supported Lydia, his wife of almost 49 years, in everything she did.

He was proud of and inspired his children Julianne (deceased), Scott, Matthew (Cynthia) and Tonya.

Barry was always interested in what his grandchildren Nathan, Finn and Patrick were up to and enjoyed spending time with them.

His extended family and friends never had to question whether he would help if asked, and he especially enjoyed getting together with them.

Spiteri LillianSPITERI, Lillian   -  It is with great sadness that the family of Lilian Le Prevost Spiteri, announces her passing, in her 78th year, on August 15, 2022.

Lilian was predeceased by her husband, Mario.

She was the dedicated mother of Carmen (David), Janey, Joe (Christina).

She leaves behind her grandchildren, Matthew, Anthony, Nicole, Olivia, Victoria and Claire, whom she loved with all her heart.

Lilian was a saint on earth. She overcame adversity throughout her life.

She was separated from her father as a young child and when her family reunited, they developed a special bond.

Lilian immigrated to Canada knowing very few people and having very little.

NEAL, John Charles Neal, F.C.I.A.,  -  1945 - 2022 , passed away on August 13, 2022, at home, surrounded by family.

John is survived by his wife, Gemma, his children, Tara (Simon), and Erin (Tim), and his grandchildren, Declan, Kayleigh, and Charlotte.

MCGOWAN, Terence James   -   June 30, 1942 - August 13, 2022

Terence passed peacefully in his 80th year at his home in Toronto.

Beloved partner of Gail Lumber.

Ponorsky ZinaPONORSKY, Alphonzina "Zina" Katherine (nee UPSHAW) Ponorsky   -  Janary 28, 1928 - August 13, 2022

"To everyone there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." – Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Zina's season began on January 28, 1928, bringing much joy and blessings to parents, Wallace and Sarah Upshaw, who had already been blessed with two lovely sons.

She began her career as a permissive school teacher at Five Mile Plains School in NS. In the summer of 1954, her interest in seeing the big city of Montreal led her to make a visit to her two aunts.

Her aunts convinced her to stay for at least one year and it was during that year that she was introduced to her late husband, George Ponorsky, who was stationed at the RCAF base in Lachine, Quebec.

DOrsay LawrenceD'ORSAY, Lawrence Edward   - December 12 1941 - August 12, 2022

Our beloved Larry passed away peacefully, at his home in Mississauga on Friday, August 12, 2022 surrounded by his wife and children.

He was born in Moncton New Brunswick and was predeceased by his loving parents, Ted and Del D'Orsay.

Larry and his parents moved to the Sunnylea area of Toronto when Larry was at the age of one.

Piattelli AdaPIATTELLI, Ada   -  Peacefully, died on August 12, 2022, surrounded by her family, at the age of 94.

Ada Gabriella was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Francavilla, Chieti, Italy.

She was a beloved wife to Enrico (deceased) of 63 years; cherished mother to Alessandro Mario (Loretta) and Maria (Domenic); and loving nonna to Christopher (Sara), Adrian (Shelley), Melissa (Dom), Nicholas (Alyson), Andrea (Kevin); and bisnonna to Sophia, Alessandra, Julia and Angelo.

Ada was famous for her delicious tomato sauce with meatballs, homemade pasta and gnocchi, which were enjoyed at every Sunday family lunch in her home.

Vendrasco AdrianoVENDRASCO, Adriano Giorgio   -   It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adriano Vendrasco of Toronto, at the age 86.

He was born in Asolo, Treviso, Italy, September 20, 1935.

He was the beloved and cherished husband of the late Anna (nee Tasca); and father of late Frank, Robert (Lydia) and Paul (Natallia).

Cherished Nonno of Jordan, Daniel, Adrian, Vivian and Angelika.

Known for his lifelong working career, he enjoyed gardening, wine making, singing and get-togethers with his close Trevisani friends, and most of all, free time with his grandchildren.

EICHENBERGER, Donald Hugo J.   -  Passed away peacefully, at Silverthorn Care Community, on August 12, 2022.

Survived by his loving wife, Kathleen, of 33 years.

Predeceased by his wife, Shirley and stepson, David.

Bea BettyBEA, Betty Marie (nee THOMPSON)   -  March 19, 1927 – August 12, 2022

Peacefully, in her home, on Friday, August 12, 2022, Betty Marie Bea, passed away, at the age of 95, with her husband of 62 years, Jack Bea, at her side.

She will be mourned by her 4 children (twin girls and two sons), 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and sister.

Betty was born in the village of Victoria Road, ON.

She was the eldest of four girls born to Garnet and Irma (Everson) Thompson. Betty completed Grade 13 at the age of 16 in Whitby.

She worked for 16 years with the Bank of Commerce in Whitby, Toronto and Oshawa.

She met Jack Bea from Hamilton in 1958 and moved into their current home.

Devine WilliamDEVINE, William   -  Born in Hamilton, Ontario, on March 31, 1930, and passed away peacefully, on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Humber River Regional Hospital, Toronto, at the age of 92.

Loving son of the late William and Sarah May Devine; and brother of the late Grace Dovey.

Long-time trade Unionist (CAW/UNIFOR) and social activist, William is survived by his daughter, Denise; his son, William (children with the late Joan Peters); grandson, Christopher (and family); Laura and Marco, (children of the late Ana Devine); and nephew, Christopher Dovey.

Georgiou AnastasiosGEORGIOU, Anastasios (Tassos/Tom)   -  1946 - 2022 Passed away peacefully, on August 12, 2022 in his 76th year, surrounded by family at Scarborough Centenary Hospital.

Tasso was born in Florina, Greece on April 10, 1946, the youngest of 4 children, and only son of the late Zoe (neé: Leka) and Athanasios Georgiou.

Dear younger brother to his late sisters, Irene Tsanos, Mary Pilidis, and Eleftheria (Litsa) Siapas.

Former husband of Mary with whom he shares son, Athan, who survives him.

Beloved uncle to Nancy and Andrea, Ted and Zoe in Toronto; and nephew, Tasso in Florina. Tasso was a people person with an affinity for joy, music, travel and the sea.

DIXON, Brenda Marie Dixon   -  Passed away peacefully, with loved ones by her side, in Toronto on August 12, 2022, at the age of 71.

Born in Hamilton to Barclay Ann Heisey and Jessie Earl Hudgins, Brenda was a natural caregiver.

She found a profession to channel that passion, becoming a registered chiropodist in 1984.
